We made tribal masks out of cardboard and painted them. This craft lends itself to Halloween, Carnaval or a tribal theme. It is fun seeing how creative each child can be.

We did our own take on a very interesting idea from http://www.kidscraftweekly.com. We stamped a green leaf print (used folded tp roll ) and glued on some painted cork leafs. We really liked the way the newsprint shown through the paint. This is a great Autumn project!

We made our own mikado game out of skewer sticks (some were washed and reused). The children had fun painting and creating their own game. This was part of a lesson on making your own toys.

Cork Sheet and Twig Door Hanging
A friend of mine gave me some old cork sheets. I remember seeing a great idea at: http://crafts.kaboose.com/leafy-door-hanger.html We decided to make our door hanging using the cork which we painted. The kids glued the leaves onto some string and tied them to a twig. They were a great hit!

Egg Carton Game - Ball Toss
For the summer we decided to make our own games out of recycled materials. We started by making a toss game out of an egg carton. We made the toss ball out of an old sock. Painted the cartons bright colors, each color worth different points, white means you win and black is game over.
